Our goal is to breed chocolate Dane to
chocolate Dane thus ending up with pure chocolate lines.
A Dane can be a recessive chocolate and show no outwards signs of
carrying the chocolate gene.
There is a DNA test to check you Dane for the chocolate gene or you can research your
Dane's pedigree.
Chocolate Danes can be solid chocolate, chocolate harlequin aka
choclequin, chocolate merle and even chocolate brindle.
Chocolicious Danes is the name of just one of our "chocolate" Danes' web sites; we have several for marketing purposes. All of our puppies come from registered breeding stock. Our first priority is to produce quality puppies that are healthy, well socialized with good temperament and conformation that represent the breed correctly. Then, and only then, does the DESIGNER coloring factor in!
At first our favorites were the fawnequins and brindlequins but now, we're addicted to CHOCOLATE!! Over the years we have seen an increase in the desire for "DESIGNER" Danes vs. the qualifying show colors so we are very pleased to be breeding specifically for the colors we happen to love best, in addition to the breed standard colors.
Many people are under the misconception that Danes only come in six (6) colors when in fact this is only the number of breed standard colors, colors that can be shown in Conformation competitions. I have done my research and found there are currently approximately 65 color variations for Danes. I have been blasted by show people saying I didn't know what I was talking about so I've taken the time to make a color chart with pictures to prove otherwise!
We have a good breeding program and what better way to compliment it than to have customers return to adopt a second puppy or refer friends and family to us? Dieslel's mom referred Tasha's mom to us and even her own Mother who adopted Chief. RJ's mom returned and adopted Powder, and Brodye's mom returned to adopt Zoey. We're very proud to say we've even had several of our Danes likeDiesel, RJ, Powder and Chloe become, or are soon to become, Registered Therapy or Service animals.
