Some breeders target focus on the single trait of long horn.  At ASOCL our goal is the total package... producing calves with flashy color, pet-like dispositions and "Ribbon winning" conformation and size.  The heifers will mature into cows with abundant milk and the bulls will be fertile as well as having all the other great Longhorn traits, including L-O-N-G  H-O-R-N-S  which are a result of our using time proven genetics! 

At ASOCL we're not about quantity.   It's QUALITY  that drives us to selectively match each and every one of our foundation cows with just the right bull so we can produce calf crops that only improve each year; thus ensuring us we're always producing the total package!

More times than not,  the "cheap" longhorns for sale are just that.... cheap quality, which is fine if you don't need or want to make money raising them.  Remember the saying,   "You get what you pay for." 

ASOCL believes there's only one type of Longhorn to raise, and that's one of HIGH quality!   After all, it doesn't cost any more to feed and water a quality animal vs a "bargain" one.    The advantages of owning quality Longhorns is endless!  Considering the fact that we only have an 86 acre ranch, I think we've done pretty well for ourselves and the breed.

Our 2005 calf crop was great, the 2006 was even better and the 2007 calves are starting to hit the ground and look'n good!   The hand selected herd sires and foundation cows we've collected over the years, and continue to collect, are proving to be money well spent.  Our cattle are winning in the show ring and can be winners in your and your pasture!
